Another winter vacation came and went… Another trip to Bombay came and went… And now I am back in Pittsburgh…
But this break was very different… Saurabh visited Bombay for four days… had loads of fun with him… traveled from one end of the city to the other… must have driven about 600 kms in those four days… ate like there was no tomorrow… had loads of paan… then he left… started meeting friends and family… met up with jai hind classmates after like 3 and a half years… was nice seeing them… finally sold my dreaded N91 and got myself a Sony Ericsson k610i… and then had the worst travel experience of my life!
Left from Bombay at 2.40am on a BA flight to London… Flight got delayed a bit so my wait at the airport was shortened to an hour, thus my luggage wasn’t transferred… Get onto that flight… and that reaches JFK late as well, my luggage doesn’t arrive and I miss my connection to Pittsburgh… the next flight out to Pittsburgh is after 6 hours… so wait 6 hours at jfk airport… then get onto my flight… which takes off at 6.05pm and I instantly fall asleep (considering I am very tired)… and next thing I know we have just landed in Pittsburgh and the air-hostess announces, “The local time in Pittsburgh is 9.05pm”. Now wait, when taking off she told us the time in the air is an hour and seven minutes, but it took us three hours?!?!?!? I just got my stuff together, got to campus and was relieved that the journey was finally over!
Classes started Monday… So far they’ve been pretty good… It will be a busy semester as usual… Something to look forward to…
